Isle of Man TT

Without doubt, one of the most dangerous motorcycle races in the world - the Isle of Man TT really is something that simply has to be seen in-person, in order to truly grasp the magnitude of the event.

Yes, the racing is insane. That however is only part of the story, for those two weeks every year, the whole island becomes a hive of activity. It is truly a carnival atmosphere as the whole place welcomes visitors from all corners of the world, and with motorcycle displays, live music and more, it's easy to see why so many people continue to flock back year after year.

With more than 40,000 people making the pilgrimage to the island annually, the event continues to be the mecca of road-racing worldwide and now, more than 100 years since the TT started, it is one of the most iconic motorcycle events in the world.

Daytona Beach Bike Week

The biggest motorcycle event in the US? Not quite, that accolade belongs to another event further down this list - but Daytona may well be more famous.

Daytona is known the world over for it's association with NASCAR racing, however in the motorcycling world, the area is also known for hosting the Daytona 200 at the Daytona International Raceway, and for being the location for Daytona Beach Bike Week - where the Daytona 200 acts as the centrepiece to a festival of motorcycling.

This 10-day event attracts roughly half a million visitors every year and has been running since 1941.

2024 will mark its 84th instalment - making it an undoubted entry into our list.

Bike Shed MOTO Show

Back in 2013, the Bike Shed was a boutique custom motorcycle brand, starting out in the world, with the aim of bringing a new age of the 'retro' biker to the few interested individuals. 10-years on, their 10th annual bike show welcomed more than 17,000 visitors over a 3-day weekend in London.

The Bike Shed now dominates the urban biker scene in the UK and can hold its own against any of the motorcycling events on this list.

The ONE MOTO show

What's Seattle famous for? Starbucks, grunge music and the tech industry? Maybe not the location you'd associate with a huge motorcycle show, but turns out the ONE MOTO SHOW is one of the biggest motorcycle get-togethers in Northern America.

Established in 2009 The ONE MOTO SHOW will hit 15 years in 2024, and is expected to eclipse the 60,000 visitors of 2023's event.

With this size of turnout, more than 300 custom motorcycles in attendance, live music, bike displays, custom bike awards, beers and more - the ONE MOTO SHOW earns it's place on our list.

Wheels & Waves

One of the biggest events in Europe: Wheels & Waves is based in the Biarritz region of France, offering visitors a unique blend of motorcycles, surfing, skateboarding and music.

In 2023 the 5-day festival will celebrated it's 12th year and attendance topped more than 100,000.

International Concentration Faro

The Faro International Motorcycle Rally, is an annual event held in Faro, a city in the Algarve region of Portugal. It is one of the largest and most renowned motorcycle rallies in Europe, attracting motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world.

The rally began in 1982 and has been running for several decades. It originated as a gathering of motorcycle clubs and riders, primarily from Portugal and neighbouring countries. Over the years, it has evolved into a major international event that embraces the motorcycle culture and attracts participants of all ages and backgrounds.

It features live music performances, motorcycle exhibitions, stunt shows, custom bike competitions, tattoo contests, trade stands, and a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration. Attendees can enjoy scenic rides in the Algarve region and explore the beautiful coastal surroundings.

Only fitting to end with the largest event (in terms of attendance), Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is a highly popular and iconic annual event held in Sturgis, South Dakota, United States.

The event was first established in 1938 by a group of local motorcycle enthusiasts as a way to promote motorcycle races and bring the community together. Over time, it has grown exponentially, attracting riders from across the United States and beyond.

The event spans around 10 days and typically takes place in August. It features a wide range of activities and events that cater to motorcycle enthusiasts of all types. Attendees can enjoy motorcycle races, live music concerts, stunt shows, bike shows, group rides through scenic routes, vendor exhibitions, and various other forms of entertainment and camaraderie.

In terms of attendance, the rally draws an enormous number of visitors each year. With numbers usually exceeding 500,000 annually. The event transforms the small town of Sturgis into a bustling hub of motorcycle culture, with participants and spectators joining together to celebrate their shared passion.
